KI Adult Martial Art Program

Overseen by Senior Instructors Mr. Craig Wharem and Mr. John English the Adult program is designed to create an exciting and engaging community of adults from all walks of life. The hustle and bustle of day-to-day life can be challenging, and our goal is through exercise, fun and friendship to help enrich the lives of the adults who train here!

What can I expect from my Martial Arts training?

The adult program is designed to develop physical skills and help adult students reach their individual goals. Everyone seeks training for different reasons, KI Instructors will come alongside you, meet you where you’re at and help you reach those goals. One of the hallmark parts of the adult program is the community of students who train, and all help one another improve.

What do the different classes mean and which is a good fit for me?

One of the cool benefits of the adult KI program is the opportunity to experience many different methods and cultures of training. We encourage all adults interested in training to try out each class and system to see what appeals mostly to you!

At KI we have a delineation for the classes which helps put them into more broad categories. Those categories are Traditional Martial Arts and Reality Based Martial Arts. Traditional Martial Arts are complex effective systems that are designed to honor a culture and a lineage. Reality Based Martial Arts are simple effective systems that are based on being able to apply many skills and create a 24/7 warrior mindset.

How long will it take to get a black belt?

We never guarantee a timeframe for students to test for belts. There are many factors that lead into making that decision. A comprehensive and applicable knowledge of the curriculum is one area where students need to show readiness for testing. The other areas of growth are dependent on the student’s goals for training.

What is simple and complex effectiveness?

Simple effective techniques are easy to learn, easy to do and effective!

Complex effective techniques are more challenging to learn and do and effective!

One is not better than the other, they are both effective and fun to learn!

How do I know the program will meet my goals?

Set up an orientation and come give it a shot! You will meet with a Head or Senior Instructor and our Program Director! We will take some time to understand your goals and make sure that the program is a great fit for you! We want all students to attend classes at KI because they see the opportunity for growth and are excited to learn!

Our two-week trial is set up to give you the opportunity to get to know us and vice versa! During the trial we will sit with you and provide feedback on what we have observed in classes and then we can set goals for your teen to get started on their training!
